In February 2021, Bengal Multimedia held a press conference at their Tejgaon studio to announce Shakib Khan’s latest film, “Leader, Ami Bangladesh”. The shooting for the film began that same month. However, due to the pandemic and government regulations, the shooting was halted in July 2021. In August 2021, Shakib Khan resumed shooting at BFDC after restrictions were lifted.
The shoot was temporarily postponed on September 26th of the same year. Despite this setback, the entire production for the film was completed in just three and a half months, except for one song’s video. This remaining part was later wrapped up in October 2022. Although the release of the film was delayed multiple times, it is now ready for release. The Censor Board gave the film uncut clearance at the end of December 2022.

In May 2021, the press release for the film Leader: Amie Bangladesh was accompanied by its first look poster. The 51-second teaser, directed by Tapu Khan, was released at 7 PM on April 3, 2023, on the occasion of National Film Day. The director chose this auspicious day for the teaser’s release.
Initially scheduled to release during Eid ul Azha in 2022, the film faced a delay in its release. Eventually, the film premiered on April 22, 2023, at 98 cinema halls on the day of Eid al-Fitr.
